i just bought a new ipod and with it an itunes gift card. in general i'm looking for some new music to excite me. i pretty much like everything except for singers who scream. here is some stuff that has been exciting me lately:

arcade fire
panic at the disco
anais mitchell
antje duvekot
bright eyes
the new dashboard confessional cd
jess klein
tegan and sara

those are just a few things to give you an idea of what's been cool to me lately, but i am really up to listen to anything and discover new stuff. i esp like stuff with really thought provoking lyrics.

so let me have it: what have you been listening to? who do you love? who have i got to check out?

i'm writing from our hotel in london. just a short note to say that the wedding was amazing. we had a wonderful time, there was minimal drama and everything was pretty much perfect. steph looked incredible and the service was beautiful. so yay!

we arrived here safely. i have had three hours of sleep in the past 2 days and yet i am still holding up well.

we're having a great time so far. hopefully i'll get to write more soon. but all is well. tomorrow we sightsee in earnest.

i am so out of it today. we are still without internet in our household; we're not getting it turned back on until after we get back from camp because of money issues, so i am sitting in panera bread. they have free wireless access and it is saving my ass right now.

today i have off and it's a flurry of wedding stuff. i have to burn 100 cds for our wedding favours. so i'm doing that while also planning out the ceremony. i'm piecing together threads of stuff from various traditions and sources and trying to get it all to flow seamlessly. it's turning out to be more complicated than i thought. but i think it's turning out well. my main concern now is length, but at the same time, it's our wedding and so who cares if it's a bit long.

yesterday steph and i, along with my friend kim and her girlfriend tiffany went tubing down the delaware. it had been about three years since i had been tubing and so it was a lot of fun. it was also a nice relaxing way to spend a day, which was much needed since this week is going to be absolute insanity. i am really beginning to wish that i had more time off this week because i'm not sure i'll be able to get everything done that i said i would do. everything is taking longer than i thought it was going to. i have tomorrow morning off, which is great, but they have me working from open to close on wednesday. i may have to try to get out of one of those shifts because i have a feeling more stuff will need to be done. new things keep coming up. and stuff needs to be done that i just didn't think of until now. so i'm getting a little stressed.

again, very thankful for yesterday's day of relaxation.

all right, this was a short little post and break, but i should get back to work. i'm almost done the ceremony, i just have to write one more prayer. woo hoo!
